Occasionally, animals may require life saving blood transfusions from either a fresh blood product or frozen plasma. The AEC, as a central facility to many referring area clinics, houses a small blood bank for just this purpose. Currently, staff pets have provided a small pool of donators but the AEC is still in need of more. If you are interested in having your pet become a lifesaving donor, please contact the AEC for to see if your pet would be a good candidate. A few requirements do apply (see below).
