VETERINARIANS
Dr. Laura Crow, Staff Veterinarian - Dr. Crow grew up around the Quad City Area. She graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine with her Doctorate in 1998 and started practicing at a local veterinary hospital. In September of 1999, when the AEC opened its doors, she started working part time for our facility. In January, 2005, Dr. Crow joined our DVM staff full time. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children along with her assembly of pets.

Dr. Angela Penrod, Staff Veterinarian - Dr. Penrod is a native Iowan and grew up in the Quad Cities. She received her D.V.M. degree from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She then came back to the Quad Cities and worked in a local practice for 15 years and was often that practices' primary emergency contact. When the AEC opened, she filled shifts working part-time (along with her day practice job) and continued that relationship throughout the years as needed. In May 2008 she came became a full-time staff doctor at the AEC. She lives in the area with her husband, 2 children, and multiple pets.

Dr. Kristin Hook, Staff Veterinarian - Dr. Hook was born and raised near Rockford, Illinois (Go Illini!) Early on, emergency medicine was a big interest of hers due to the experiences he had as a technician at the animal emergency center in Rockford. She earned her doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and started her career in small animal daytime practice. She started working part time for the AEC as a new grad, where her love of emergency medicine grew further. She became a member of the full time staff in March 2008. She lives in Wilton, Iowa with her husband, 4 children, and her many dogs and cats.

Dr. Bruce Benge, Staff Veterinarian- Dr. Benge received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1999. Upon graduation he completed a one year rotating internship program at Kansas State University. Dr. Benge then practiced in Texas till he moved back to the Quad City area in 2002 when he accepted a position at the Animal Emergency Center. Dr. Benge enjoys running, biking, fishing, canoeing, archery, and camping. He and his wife, Kim, have two young children that keep them very busy with trips to the park, pool, soccer games and baseball games. Their family also includes their dog, Sierra, and cat, Emily.
